Cowboys at Eagles
By: Jake Rajala
The kickoff to the NFL season is right around the corner. The City of Brotherly Love welcomes their NFC East foe, the Dallas Cowboys for the first game of the season. With that said, I’m going to take a unique angle and unfold bold predictions for the TNF contest.
Jalen Carter get a pair of sacks
Jalen Carter was unstoppable in the playoffs last season. He had a sack and he forced an incomplete pass to close the game in the contest against the Rams. He finished with two sacks from the game. He had 53 pressures on the season, which was ninth in the league.
George Pickens gets over 120 yards
Ceedee Lamb is the man. He has proven to be a Top-5 WR. Well, I believe the attention on him will open up opportunities for former Steeler George Pickens. All Pickens has done is record one handed catches and burn opposing corners. He recorded 18.1 YPC in 2023, which was first in the league.
Saquon Barkley gets under 50 rushing yards
Similar to Lamb, Saquon Barkley will demand attention and a strict gameplan to get him to slow down. I believe the Eagles will factor that in and make big plays with A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith. After all, they have a Top-5 WR duo. Barkley only recorded 65 rushing yards in his last date against Dallas.
Jalen Hurts gets a pair of rushing touchdowns
I believe that Barkley will take a step back, which could open things for Jalen Hurts, especially in the redzone. Hurts had 14 rushing touchdowns last season, which is quite impressive. I believe that a hyped-up Hurts will swing for the fences and aim to have a potent Week 1 performance.
Micah Parsons plays and records two turnovers
Micah Parsons is a freak of nature. I will give him a pass for sleeping. Lawrence Taylor had lots of drama, but he got away with it due to his on-field play. I believe that Parsons will hit the ground running and make the “dual-threat” QB in Hurts pay for his play style.
