Seahawks vs 49ers: 4 x factors

Seahawks vs 49ers

By: Jake Rajala

A divisional, gutsy showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers is on the horizon. We all know that there are stars duking it out between the two squads. Well, I’m going to talk about some x factors.

MVS

MVS was one of the best deep threats last season. All he did was average 21.6 YPC. He went to Seattle at first this offseason, but he was surprisingly cut. I’m looking forward to seeing his magic against his former team in Seattle. The 49ers don’t have Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk. I wouldn’t be surprised if MVS has a heavy role.

Mykel Williams

Mykel Williams should benefit from the attention that Nick Bosa demands. Williams has a rare combination of size (6’5, 240) and speed. He also has a high motor. He reminds me of future Hall of Famer Cameron Jordan.

Charles Cross

Charles Cross will have his hands full against Joey Bosa and Williams on the edge. Cross was ranked as the 13th best OT by PFF. He may be an OT and in the shadow of Darnold and Cooper Kupp, but he is a pivota

l part of the Hawks plans.

AJ Barner

The Seahawks offensive coordinator will seek to throw a lot of safe, quick passes, just as we saw in preseason. Well, AJ Barner will roam around the slot and run short routes. Barner is entering his second season. He will get a lot more reps than last season. Juwan Johnson wasn’t a Pro Bowler under Kubiak, but he did have career numbers.

As you can see, the x factors come from a wide variety of positions. These players will have an impact, along with the household names. Don’t be surprised if one of these players has a play of the game.
