Seahawks vs 49ers: 5 bold predictions

Seahawks vs 49ers

By: Jake Rajala

The 12th man welcomes the San Francisco 49ers this weekend. It is bound to be a blood bath between the division foes. With that said, I’m going to lay out five bold predictions for the game.

CMAC gets three touchdowns

Christian McCaffrey will play with an edge after being somewhat hurt as of late. CMAC has to be hungry to get out there after missing 13 games last season. The Hawks were 17th against the run last season. Not only could McCaffrey capitalize from the average run defense, but I believe CMAC will shine in the passing game, as Deebo is on another team and Brandon Aiyuk is injured.

Demarcus Lawrence gets two sacks

Demarcus Lawrence is old, but he’s not as old as Trent Williams. He had an 85.6 PFF grade last season, which is admirable. It was his worst PFF grade in his 49ers tenure, however. I believe that Lawrence, who is fresh and not injured (which is common) will make Williams pay by sacking Brock Purdy twice.

Sam Darnold throws three touchdowns

The son of Gary Kubiak, Klint Kubiak, is one of the most underrated play-callers. He will have his welcome out party with Darnold. I believe the former USC QB will unleash a few touchdowns with Njigba and Cooper Kupp. Darnold had six games with at least three passing TDs last season.

MVS has a 60+ yard touchdown

MVS was one of the best deep threats in the league last season. All he did was average 21.6 YPC. He was recently cut by the Seahawks. He will fit nicely in the 49ers offense. I’d say that he wants revenge against the team that released him. If teams focus on George Kittle and CMAC, it could open up room for MVS to shine.

Mykel Williams will have at least two sacks

The 11th overall pick in 2025 has the rare combination of size and explosion. He can have double digit sacks as a rookie. Teams will double team Nick Bosa, who is a game wrecker. Mykel will step in and prove him and Bosa are one of the best pass-rushing tandems.
