What we learned from the Bengals-Browns game

The Cincinnati Bengals went to battle the Cleveland Browns. Despite the talent on the Bengals, they weren’t able to stomp the Browns. It was a gutsy victory for Cincy. With that said, I’m going to lay out five things we learned from the Bengals-Browns game.

Burrow’s production

Joe Burrow looked like a Top-3 QB last season. Well, it wasn’t all fireworks for Burrow in Week 1. He only unleashed 114 yards and one touchdown. Flacco managed to throw 291 yards. Flacco also threw a touchdown, but it came with two ints.

Pass rush

Myles Garrett and Trey Hendrickson are cream of the crop pass rushers. They proved it today. Hendrickson had an impressive sack. The former first overall pick (Garrett) had two sacks today! Garett and Hendrickson were DPOY candidates last season. Expect them to push for the award again.

Ja’Marr Chase

Bloody hell! What happened to Ja’Marr Chase. He was a popular top dynasty target. In Week 1, he only hauled in 2 catches for 26 yards. Noah Fant had four grabs and Tee Higgins recorded three catches. Who would have guessed that Chase would have the same number of catches as Samaje Perine?

Browns QBs

Perhaps it wasn’t wise to ship away Kenny Pickett. If Flacco continues to struggle, they will have to go with one of their project QBs (Dillion Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders). Or they would have to make another QB trade.

Browns running game

The Browns couldn’t only struggle at passing the ball effectively. Their running game was lackluster. Dylan Sampson ran for 28 yards on 12 carries. Jerome Ford only notched 8 yards on six carries. A talented RB would also take the load off a struggling QB.

It’s not a surprise that a divisional game will be tough. Although it shouldn’t have been one of Burrow’s worst games in his career. If Chase is well guarded, Tee Higgins should have been the man. At least Hendrickson affected the QB and proved it was wise to break the bank for him.
