Defenses to acquire in Week 4
By: Jake Rajala
Let’s not forget about a crucial aspect of fantasy football: defenses. With that said, I’m going to cover some defenses to target, whether it is via waivers or via trade.
Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos had the best fantasy defense last season. It seems like there is hope lost in them in 2025 for some odd reason. There is only 63% starting. The DEN defense had 16 points in Week 1, and then they did honestly drop a goose egg in Week 2. However, they came back to life and had 10 points in Week 3. It’s hard to not like them, as Patrick Surtain is 25 years old, and Nik Bonitto is 25.
New Orleans Saints
I believe you should forgive the Saints defense for their Week 3 performance. They only gave up 320 yards. Their special teams was holding them back, to say the least. We still have yet to see the sack master Chase Young play. They play in a weak division, alongside the Falcons, who got shut out in Week 3.
Houston Texans
The Houston Texans have nine sacks in three games. They are led by Danielle Hunter, who is a Top-5 edge rusher. Will Anderson has also been a high motor, sack artist for the defense. Derek Stingley is also a young cornerstone. I also like the Texans schedule, as they play the Titans twice.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles D was well rounded in Week 3. They were scoring touchdowns and not giving up too many yards. It should be known they have Jalen Carter, Zack Baun, and Cooper DeJean. I would be patient with the Eagles D, as they have young, elite players at all three levels.
There isn’t a Legion of Boom or a 1985 Bears defense in the league today. Rather, there are many Top-10 defenses that don’t stand out quite well enough. Elite players like T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett can’t save their defense by themselves.
