Latest waiver wire targets
By: Jake Rajala
It’s Sunday night and it’s time to get ahead of the competition. Of course, I’m talking about waivers in dynasty football. I’m going to lay out different positions. I will try to be fair and take multiple stances.
Darius Slayton
Say hello to Jaxson Dart. I have a lot more faith in Dart and Slayton than Russell Wilson and Slayton. Malik Nabers also tore his ACL, so Slayton is primed to have more opportunities. Slayton has had 8 pts, 7 pts, and 7 pts over the past three games. He could be a backup flex in deep leagues right now. Just know he hasn’t had a 1k yard season and he’s only had one season over four TDs.
Kendre Miller
Kendre Miller is slowly getting more involved. He had a season high 11 carries on Sunday. He averaged 5.91 YPC and he also had a TD. I also believe Miller is the future of the Saints RB spot. He is 23, while Alvin Kamara is 30 years old. I would like to see him more involved in the passing game, however.
Zavier Scott
Zavier Scott is coming off a really respectable Week 4. He recorded 16 pts in Week 4. He had 8 targets, which is quite impressive. With Adam Thielen washed up, it opens up things for Scott. On the flipside, it’s unclear if Scott will be involved when J.J. McCarthy returns and takes Carson Wentz’s spot.
Antonio Gibson
Gibson had 9.8 pts in Week 2 and 8.7 pts today. He has been on a roller coaster in his career, but he is still 27 years old. He gets a date with the Bills in Week 5. The Bills are 31st in rushing YPG allowed. Drake Maye has been playing quite well, so he may get more attempts as his career progresses. The Pats have always had a revolving door at RB, so Gibson may not be in a Pats uniform come next season.
Justin Fields
Justin Fields may still be available in 12 people league, especially after he suffered a concussion. He had 29 pts in Week 1. He will return on Monday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins. Fields is still 26 years old, so he has plenty of potential. I foresee him returning and giving a lot of effort to beat Josh Allen.
Joshua Karty
This list wouldn’t be sexy if I didn’t include a kicker. Joshua Karty had 8 pts in Week 2, 15 pts in Week 3, and 10 pts in Week 4. He is bound to be in many tight NFC West showdowns, so Karty will be quite involved throughout the seasons. He can be the ultimate x-factor.
Darren Waller
Darren Waller is one of the most gifted tight ends in the league. The question is: how much of the playbook will he understand. It’s also unclear if he is in serious shape and can avoid injuries. With Tyreek Hill playing up and down, Waller may get a lot of targets.
Brandon McManus
The second kicker makes this list. Brandon McManus kicked the field goal that tied the Packers to the Boys on Sunday night. McManus had 10 pts in Week 2 and 11 pts in Week 4. McManus is only 38% rostered, which is quite head scratching.
