7 replacements for Malik Nabers

Best replacements for Malik Nabers

By: Jake Rajala

We all heard the devastating news. The young Giants WR Malik Nabers tore his ACL and he’s done for the season. The GMEN just started their rookie Jaxson Dart (in place of Russell Wilson), and he lost an enormous help in his transition to the NFL. With that said, I’m going to unfold several replacement options for Nabers.

Hunter Renfrow

The former Las Vegas Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow still has some gas left in the tank. He had 2 TDs in Week 2. I’d like to see him in an offense that had a gifted QB. The Panthers still have Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette, who should return soon. Renfrow reminds me of Julian Edelman, as they both are underrated and can dominate from the slot.

OBJ

OBJ has said that he’s open to playing this season. It would be poetic if he returned to the Giants. OBJ can play slot WR, too. He’s not a long-term fit, but he can shine with Dart in 2025. OBJ was on fire in the Super Bowl before tearing his ACL. He’s arguably the best FA WR available. I don’t consider former OPOY Michael Thomas making a return.

Jakobi Meyers

The Las Vegas Raiders have a Top-3 TE in Brock Bowers and Tre Tucker has really come on this season. This somewhat makes Jakobi Meyers expendable. The Raiders could get a defensive end such as Kavyon Thibodeaux, to help them take down the elite group of AFC West QBs.

Hollywood Brown

The Chiefs have really good depth at WR. They just welcomed Xavier Worthy back. They can afford to move a WR for a draft pick. I’d prefer to the Giants get Hollywood Brown rather than JuJu or Worthy. They also still have Travis Kelce. Brown has 209 yards in five games thus far.

Keenan Allen

Keenan Allen isn’t a Pro Bowler WR anymore. However, he’s a solid WR2 in any offense. Allen has a modest 231 yds on the season. He’s 33 years old, so he won’t be around forever. The Chargers have a young group of wideouts, so Allen may be somewhat expendable. He has a PFF grade of 73.2, which is respectable.

Brandin Cooks

The former Saints first round pick Brandin Cooks has been traded around the leauge many times, so why should the bus stop there? Cooks is a WR3, behind Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. Even Juwan Johnson is very involved (as he has the second most targets on the team). Cooks could have an increased role with the GMEN. He may have more success with Jaxson Dart than Rattler, who is 0-10.

Michael Pittman Jr.

The big Colts WR Michael Pittman has been a modest WR. He’s the 27th best WR in receiving yards. The Colts have a quality WR2 (Josh Downs) and WR3 (Alec Pierce). This could make Pittman a valuable trade target right now. He has a PFF grade of 70.8, so a new change in scenery could benefit him.
