7 flex players to trade away in Week 5: dynasty

Players to trade away in Week 5

By: Jake Rajala

Do NOT overlook your flex players at this stage in the season. It’s especially crucial to always monitor one’s squad and know which players to move on from. With that said, I’m going to unfold several flex players to move on from.

Nick Chubb

Nick Chubb is a bowling ball. He isn’t the same player he was in Cleveland, however. He has one week above 10 pts. He his coming off a season-high 13 carries with 47 yds to show for it. His foes have been the Jags and Titans over the past two weeks, yet he has a combined 15 pts in those games. Furthermore, he blatantly is 29 years old.

Joe Mixon isn’t returning yet, but that (clearly) doesn’t mean Chubb will explode.

David Montgomery

Of course, David Montgomery is on a red hot Lions offense. Nonetheless, he isn’t the elite toy in the offense. He had 1.2 pts last week. He also had 11 carries for 25 yds in Week 1. This isn’t something new. Gibbs will remain the bell-cow, unless a prime Barry Sanders has something to say.

DK Metcalf

DK Metcalf had his best play of the season in London, but I don’t love his outlook. He has had 12 pts, 11 pts, 12 pts in his first three games. He went off with 23.6 pts last weekend. I don’t believe he will have many games where he goes off. Furthermore, his QB is 41 years old and will most certainly retire after this season. We just saw how Ja’Marr Chase is affected with a below average QB last night. It may be possible to get a first round pick for him.

Tre Tucker

I’d love to know where the magic of Tre Tucker went, as I have him on my team. He had 40 pts in Week 3 and then 4.2 pts last week. He has the fountain of youth (as he’s 24), but he isn’t quite a go to target with Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers in the offense. Ashton Jeanty is also starting to command a fierce rushing attack, too.

Rashid Shaheed

Chris Olave is second in the league in targets and Juwan Johnson is second in targets among TEs. This makes it hard to include Rashid Shaheed. There aren’t many deep shots taken by Rattler, as well. The Saints try to give him sweeps and short plays, so he can make plays in space, but he doesn’t get many targets. He has the Travis Hunter treatment.

Stefon Diggs

Diggs is the 37th best WR right now. I wouldn’t be too amazed about his 16 pt performance in Week 3. He only scored 7 pts in Week 2 and then 5 pts in Week 3. It’s also hard to project him with a second year QB. He isn’t Randy Moss. Furthermore, he is 31 years old, so he likely has 2-3 more seasons at most. He’s also had off the field issues.

Zach Ertz

Zach Ertz hasn’t been Marcus Mariota’s friend, to say the least. Ertz has six pts in each of the past two weeks. Even with Scary Terry on the sideline, Ertz couldn’t attract more targets. He only had 2 catches for 21 yards against a pedestrian Falcons defense last Sunday. Of course, Ertz is also 34 years old, so he won’t be around much longer.
