Is Travis Kelce washed up? Dynasty Fantasy Football

Is Kelce washed up right now?

By: Jake Rajala

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, hasn’t been on a hot streak, to say the least. He’s the 13th best TE right now. He has a season high of 12.7 pts. In comparison, Darren Waller unleashed 17 pts last Sunday in his first game back! Kelce has two games under 10 pts. He also only had 1 TD on the season. Yikes.

I presume that Kelce will hang up his cleats after this season and ride off into the sunset with the mystical Taylor Swift, who can fill a stadium by herself. Obviously, they are quite the power duo.

Apart from his rookie season with 0 catches, Kelce had a career low figure in yards (823) and touchdowns (3) last season. His demise has been greatly noted. He’s on pace for 773 yards, which would be the lowest figure in his career!

It’s troublesome that Kelce wasn’t able to maximize his production with the Chiefs WR1 Xavier Worthy on the sidelines. That was a prime chance to get more targets.

Kelce may not be his old All-Pro self, but he can be reliable with TE option plays. He has a knack to find spots in zone coverage.

Kelce has also a taste of Super Bowl victories, as he’s won three Super Bowls! It won’t be overly important for Kelce to win a Super Bowl. However, a Super Bowl victory for KC will likely mean it’s more realistic for Kelce to retire.

I don’t believe that Kelce is worth a lot, as he clearly doesn’t have a high ceiling, and he’s 36 in early October.

With TE being such a pivotal position for Mahomes, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they drafted a TE early in 2026. Andy Reid loves to have trick plays and unique formations. They could really benefit from a versatile TE or even a receiving threat at fullback.

Father time catches up to TEs in their mid 30s. Jimmy Graham and Gronk both hung up their cleats around that time.

Kelce has been visibly frustrated in many times this season. They are just struggling to get him going. At some point they have to spend more time creating more plays for Worthy, JuJu, and Hollywood Brown, rather than Kelce.

As a dynasty owner of Kelce, he is honestly washed up. I was hoping to get one last ride out of him. That doesn’t appear to be happening.

It may be possible to get a third round draft pick out of him. It would be poetic given that he was drafted by KC in the third round!
