5 teams that could win out

teams that could win out

There are many Prometheus-like teams in the NFL. There are a handful of teams that have a legit chance of winning out. Well, I’m going to lay out five of these teams.

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are sitting pretty at 3-1. After a rare disaster in Week 1 against a gifted Green Bay Packers squad, they have been unstoppable. They demolished the Chicago Bears by a score of 52-21 in Week 2, defeated the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, and then recently stomped the Cleveland Browns by a score of 34-10. They sent Joe Flacco to Davy Jones’s locker. Aidan Hutchinson doesn’t only have four sacks on the season. He had a crucial forced fumble against Derrick Henry.

So what is stopping the Lions from winning out? Well, they have to play the Packers again. Furthermore, they have to play the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are one of two teams to not lose a game this season. The other team is none other than the Buffalo Bills. The Eagles offense and their unstoppable tush push can slowly mow down their foes. On defense, they have the elite Jalen Carter and the best MLB in the game, Zack Baun. The Eagles also play in an NFC East division that doesn’t have any winning teams.

Los Angeles Chargers

The LA Chargers started out 3-0. Now they fell to 3-1 after they were upset by the GMEN. I expect them to have a head full of steam moving forward. Not only did they start 3-0, but they beat all of their divisonal foes in the process. Justin Herbert is still a candidate to win MVP. On defense, they have Derwin James, who had 8 stops last Sunday.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield is a darkhorse MVP candidate. The Bucs stand at 3-1. They have one of the easiest divisions to compete in. Their lone loss came against Philly and they barely edged out the Bucs. Mike Evans missed Week 4, yet Baker has kept it competitive, thus far. I still like their front seven with Lavonte David and Vita Vea.

San Francisco 49ers

If CMAC can stay healthy, they can remain a threat to win. The impressive part is that they don’t have Brock Purdy, George Kittle or Nick Bosa. Of course, Purdy and Kittle will return this season. They still have one of the brightest HC-DC combinations with Kyle Shanahan and Robert Saleh.

We aren’t blessed with any dynasty teams in the league, in my opinion. The Chiefs don’t appear to be a team that could win it, notably due to Travis Kelce being a shell of his once self. Nonetheless, there are many juggernaut teams that could win it all in the short-term. As a Saints fan, my beloved team won’t be on this list anytime soon. It’s still exciting to see teams (especially at the HC and QB spots) put in the work to be constantly successful over a long period of time.
