Is it time to buy low and sell high
By: Jake Rajala
Dynasty football is cooking at Week 8. We’re witnessing young players start to blossom and we’re also seeing players suffer unfortunate injuries. With that said, I’m going to take a critical angle and tell you which players to buy low and which players to sell high. Let’s begin.
Buy Low:
Xavier Worthy
Don’t sleep on the 40 yard dash legend Xavier Worthy. Sure, he had his worst game of the season. He went from 17, 11, to 10 in points scored. Worthy can thrive in so many different ways (such as screens to deep shots), so it’s hard to put Worthy down.
Sam LaPorta
I believe the MVP performance by Jahmyr Gibbs against the Bucs held back Sam LaPorta. I don’t anticipate Sam being out of the headline again. After all, it was his worst game of the season. He’s had 2 TDs in the past three games. The Bucs defense is simply the best at taking your top targets out of the game, too
Ashton Jeanty
Ashton Jeanty started to really heat up in Week 4 by getting 33.5 points. He then got 15.9 and 16.6 points in the following two weeks. That’s very impressive for a rookie QB. He only scored 4.4 points yesterday, but he only got six carries. That’s a rare sight, but the Raiders were down by a lot, so he was essentially useless.
Jaylen Waddle
I wouldn’t count on Jaylen Waddle having anywhere near 2.5 points again. With Tyreek Hill out, he should usually get at least several targets a game. In his last three games, he went from 9 targets to 8 targets to 4 targets. Waddle would only benefit from a QB change (if that occurs) in my opinion.
Sell High:
Devonta Smith
The young Heisman winner DeVonta Smith could warrant a high first round pick at this stage right now. He unleashed 33.3 points in Week 7. He also scored 20 points in Week 3 and 19.4 points in Week 5. He is a little shaky (three games below 10 points) and Jalen Hurts is inconsistent, so I believe it’s wise to ship away Smith after a career like performance he’s had.
Keenan Allen
I love Keenan Allen’s fight at 33 years old. Well, he is coming off a season high performance of 28.9 points. He has hit his ceiling. He had 8.7 points in Week 4 and 6.7 points in Week 6. I can’t imagine that he plays more than 1-2 seasons.
Travis Hunter
I sold former second overall pick Travis Hunter a couple of weeks ago, so I may be bias. Nonetheless, I am far from sold on Hunter. He is coming off a 24.1 game. It was his first game in double digit points. Not to mention that Hunter is playing in an offense that has scored 7 points last week and 12 points in the game prior.
Alec Pierce
Alec Pierce had a season high 14.8 points this past weekend. I don’t love his ceiling. He had a season high of 10.8 points before last Sunday. He was on a roller coaster last season, to say the least. He is only 25 years old, so a team may love his potential.
