Sleeper TEs to target

Don’t ever sleep on the pivotal tight end position. There will always be ascending TEs, especially after a season or two. Elite TEs often don’t dominate as a rookie. So, I’m going to lay out some TE sleepers in Week 8. Let’s begin.
Noah Fant
It’s hard to count out a weapon that’s coming off a modest 14.4 points. Did I mention that he has a new QB by the name of Joe Flacco, who threw a few TDs in Week 7. Fant was able to have a season best performance, despite Ja’Marr Chase garnering 23 targets. Again, he has a 57.1 PFF grade. I expect him to improve his PFF grade, to say the least.
Cade Otton
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cade Otton has recorded 12, 10, and 13 points over the past few weeks. With future Hall of Famer Mike Evans out for the season and the other Bucs weapons banged up, it really allows Otton to shine. He also has a PFF grade of 56.4. It’s atrocious, but that doesn’t hold him back from double digit points.
Darnell Washington
The behemoth Darnell Washington is improving and becoming an x-factor in the Steelers offense. The Steelers TE had 9.2 points in back to back games, which is modest for a 24 year old TE. DK Metcalf really opens up the offense. Hopefully, Darnell and the other weapons can shine in a Steelers-Packers showdown for Aaron Rodgers’s sake.
Theo Johnson
The New York Giants TE Theo Johnson is arguably the most underrated TE in the league. Even I’m a tad skeptical of him, as he’s 24 years old. He had 10 points, 21 points, 4.70, and 15.6 points over the past four games. He does have a low PFF grade (57.2). Hopefully, he can continue to shine with Pro Bowl WR Malik Nabers out of the picture and defenses focused on Cam Skattebo.
Taysom Hill
Taysom Hill should get leaned on and never look back. Kellen Moore knows that he needs a spark on offense. Hill can catch the ball and be more effective in space than most TEs. He can also hit a home run from the wildcat formation.
TEs are never easy to project. They can get a few catches, but get a TD at the same time. Or they could get many grabs and fail to score a TD for a few weeks. At least a young TE in waivers that’s blossoming could just begin to scratch the surface of their true potential.
