3 reasons the Rams can win their division

The Rams can win their division

By: Jake Rajala

As a diehard New Orleans Saints fan, it was gut-wrenching to see the Los Angeles Rams squash my squad last weekend. Well, the Rams are flat-out creative and explosive. I really believe the Rams are poised for success, especially in their division. Well, I’m going to lay out a few reasons the Rams can win their division (which is the wild NFC West).

  • WR duo

The Rams have arguably the best WR duo in the entire league in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Puka has 711 yards on 61 grabs in seven games. He is a menace in the open field, as he’s simply a tough running back to bring down in space. He has a PFF grade of 93.3, which is first among WRs in the league! His partner in crime is Davante Adams, who is essentially the best WR2 in the league. Tae doesn’t only have 491 yards, but also 8 TDs. The Rams WR duo is essentially the main reason that Matthew Stafford in the MVP conversation.

  • Pass rush

The Rams pass rush is the main reason that the Rams can put away teams. They are third in the league in sacks (with 27 sacks). Byron Young has nine sacks and Jared Verse has four sacks. Of course, Verse was their first round pick in 2024. Meanwhile, Young was a third round pick from 2023. They may not have Aaron Donald, but that hasn’t held them back from having an elite pass rush.

  • 49ers

Sure, the 49ers beat the Rams in their last game. Well, let it be known that the Rams won in the three prior showdowns. Furthermore, Rams still took their last game to OT, even if they did lose. Sean McVay is like Kyle Shanahan’s older brother. He won’t lay down to Shanny.

The Rams compete in one of the most gutsy divisions in the entire NFL. The Rams and 49ers have each won the division twice in the past four seasons. I believe these are some underlying reasons that the Rams could win ther division, besides pointing out Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford as reasons for dominance.
