Is George Pickens the best WR2?

Who is the best WR2?

By: Jake Rajala

It would be blasphemous to ignore the performance George Pickens put on Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders. All he did was record 9 grabs for 144 yards and a touchdown! He now has 764 yards and six TDs on the 2025 season! He is still the WR2, while Ceedee Lamb is the true WR1. Lamb has played in six games, while Pickens has played in nine games. With that said, a legit question surrounds Pickens: Is he the best WR2 in the game?

I believe the two best WRs in the game are Davante Adams and Pickens. Well, Pickens is fifth in the league in receiving yards. The only wideouts ahead of him are Drake London, Jaxon Smith-Njiba, Puka Nacua, and Ja’Marr Chase. Meanwhile, Tae is first in the league in touchdowns (with 10). Pickens and Tae are both maniacs when it comes to YAC. Tae doesn’t have the burners that Pickens has, but he has an unmatched release, and he’s sure-handed.

Tee Higgins and Jaylen Waddle are also cream of the crop WR2s. Higgins has 7 touchdowns, which is admirable. He can shine when defenses put all their attention on stopping Chase, who is a Top-3 WR in the league. Waddle has flashed dominance with 722 yards and five touchdowns.

Pickens has a PFF grade of 81.9, which is 10th in the league. As you can tell, he’s quite well-rounded. He’s just getting started, as it’s his first season in Dallas. He’s also 24 years old!

Pickens may be the WR2, but he still has Pro Bowl potential. There aren’t many WR2s that could reach that level.

The Boys are able to spread it around to Pickens and Lamb, while giving the Boys running back Javonte Williams 22 carries. Their balanced approach is quite impressive.

In the end, Pickens would most likely not be in contention as the best WR2 if he was on the Steelers. He sadly won’t have a winning record on the Boys just yet, but he still has more production with Dak than he likely would with A-Rod.
