Breaking down the Buccaneers weapons

Buccaneers weapons outlook

By: Jake Rajala

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one of the most explosive offenses in the league. Of course, the future Hall of Famer, Mike Evans, has been injured. This has held the Bucs offense slightly back. Nonetheless, the rookie Emeka Egbuka has stepped up. Chris Godwin has been on a pitch count, but it’s expected that his reps will jump up, too.

According to PFSN, Bowles said, “I think they’ll all be back before season’s out, but I just can’t tell you when.” He was referring to Evans, J-Mac, and Kancey. Evans has unleashed a 1k yard season in every seaosn. This will obviously be his first season, where he doesn’t unleash over 1k yards.

Evan’s wingman has been Chris Godwin. The prolific slot weapon has struggled to stay healthy. He only played in several games last season. Nonetheless, he has registered four 1k yard seasons in four out of his eight seasons. Godwin signed a three year, 66 million dollar deal in 2025.

Emeka Egbuka was quite the wise draft pick in 2025, to say the least. They would be lost without him. He has 749 yards and six touchdowns on the season. He has a legit shot at making the Pro Bowl. In fantasy, I don’t love his last two performances, where he had 9 points in Week 11 and 6.2 points in Week 12. However, I do feel great about his Week 10 outing, where he had 23.5 points.

The RB Bucky Irving on the Bucs is quite versatile. He already has 193 receiving yards on the season. He’s missed several games, so that would hinder his production. He had 19 targets in four games. He’s also not bad in the rushing attack. He has been their true bell-cow, as he’s had 14 carries, 17 carries, 25 carries, and 15 carries on the season.

Baker Mayfield is more than capable of spreading it around and utilizing the potential of each of his toys. Mayfield is on a three year, 100$ million dollar deal, which he signed in 2024. It also helps that his division is soft and filled with unproven quarterbacks.
