Head coaching fits for the Jets

I don’t love the fact that Aaron Glenn doesn’t have a future, dreamy quarterback, and his two best young defenders (Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams) are out of the Big Apple. They need to rebuild, again. I would like to see them bring in a QB whisperer, especially with the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills putting up fireworks on offense in the AFC East. Even the holy defensive minded Bill Belichick went 1-3 against the explosive Buffalo Bills and then high-powered Miami Dolphins. They need to load up on offense. With that said, I’m going to lay out five head coaching candidates for the Jets.
Klint Kubiak
I love the brains of Klint Kubiak. He has made the Seahawks a Top-3 scoring offense, despite not having a Top-10 QB. Kubiak would most likely be able to get “his guy” in the Top-10 of the 2026 NFL Draft. The only way I could imagine Kubiak stays in the Rainy City is to chase a Super Bowl.
Jon Gruden
The second offensive guru on my list is Jon Gruden. The workaholic is very creative and intense (if that wasn’t obvious). Gruden was on the verge of making the Raiders a playoff contender, until he got fired for his wretched emails. I still believe he’s a genius and that he deserves another shot for his flaws.
Chris Shula
The grandson of Don Shula, Chris Shula, has done a remarkable job with the Los Angeles Rams defense. No Aaron Donald, no problem. The Rams are first in PPG allowed. Furthermore, they are ninth in YPG allowed, as well. Chris could be an upgrade over Aaron. Glenn’s defense was flat out demolished in the postseason. I believe Chris will separate himself by having a potent defense in the playoffs.
Mike McCarthy
The Green Bay Packers legendary head coach Mike McCarthy was wrongfully fired from Dallas in my opinion. He went 12-5 in 2021, 12-5 in 2022, and 12-5 in 2023. His putrid 7-10 season in 2024 shouldn’t mean he isn’t capable of winning it all. After all, he does have a Super Bowl ring.
Matt Nagy
Matt Nagy is a brilliant offensive coordinator. The only reason he was pushed out of Chi-town was due to having Mitchell Trubisky as his QB. He is calling the right plays with the Chiefs, to say the least. Patrick Mahomes is second in passing yards and ninth in passing touchdowns. They also don’t have the most glorifying weapons for Mahomes, yet they are finding ways to put points on the board.
