Dynasty: Why it’s wise to sell Alvin Kamara

Time to sell Alvin Kamara

By: Jake Rajala

Alvin Kamara has had a season to forget. He is averaging 3.6 YPC, and he has one rushing touchdown. PFF gives him a 51.7 grade, which is 53rd out of 53 RBs.

In the fantasy world, AK hasn’t had one game above 20 points. He also has five games below seven points. Yes, you read that correctly.

Kamara is on his last legs. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that he’s 30 years old. At 30 years old, many RBs lose their spark.

Devin Neal has proven to have more juice and versatility than Kamara right now. Neal had 15.4 points on Sunday, and he only had one catch. There is so much potential for him.

The Saints OL will grow alongside Neal or whoever they bring in this offseason. I can’t imagine that they won’t target a RB, regardless of having AK on their roster. They have two young, first round picks at tackle in Kelvin Banks Jr and Taliese Fuaga, which should really help their running game.

The might question is: What is Kamara worth?

I would ship Kamara out for a second round pick, or a modest flex player with a third round pick. I stand by my word, and I also expect Kamara to retire within two seasons.

I could foresee the Saints rolling with Tyler Shough for another season. Just as the Las Vegas Raiders drafted Ashton Jeanty, I wouldn’t be surprised if they took a RB in the Top-10. They would have a shiny new RB to pair with Shough and Chris Olave.
