Seahawks vs Rams: outlook
By: Jake Rajala
The two alpha males of the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams, duke it out on Thursday Night Football. Each NFC West squad is 11-3. The winner will have a serious chance of obtaining the number one seed in the NFC.
With that said, I’m going to lay out a few x factors in the showdown.
Cobie Durant
Not only does he have a wicked name (Cobie), but he has the playmaking ability to make up for it. He has a few interceptions and several pass deflections to make up for it. He is ranked as the 27th best CB in the league by PFF right now. He will be responsible for slowing down Jaxon Smith Njigba, who might just win Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Rashid Shaheed
It’s safe to say Rashid Shaheed proved his worth with a kick return touchdown last week. He really turned on the burners. He proved the Saints were mad for trading him away, as he’s in his prime. He has 677 receiving yards on the season. He’s listed as the Hawks WR3, but he’s one of the best WR3s in the league.
Warren McClendon Jr.
Warren McClendon Jr. will have his hands full against Byron Young on Thursday. All Byron Young has is 11 sacks. He’s doing his best job to help replace the production missed by Aaron Donald. Warren has an 82.2 PFF rating, which is 10th in the league. It’s a battle between two heavy weights.
The Hawks and Rams showdown will be a bloodbath, to say the least. The Rams are 4-1 over the past five games. Well, the Hawks have a new QB (Sam Darnold) and HC (Mike MacDonald) this time around. This game will be a dandy.
