Best spots for Kenneth Walker
By: Jake Rajala
Kenneth Walker is putting together an admirable season. He has 779 rushing yards, four touchdowns, and 4.4 YPC on the season. He has an PFF grade of 87.4, which is third in the league. Yes, you read that correctly. Walker is 25 and in his prime. With that said, he is bound to be a free agent. Well, I’m going to lay out five landing spots for him.
Seattle Seahawks
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Walker is the best RB since Marshawn Lynch for the Hawks. Zach Charbonnet may only have 514 rushing yards, but he is a hammer in the red zone. He has 8 rushing touchdowns. I still wouldn’t say he’s a true 1k+ yard RB and bell cow ball-carrier.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints have Tyler Shough at QB and Chris Olave at WR. All they are missing is a prolific RB. They have Alvin Kamara, but Kamara is 30 and ranked as the worst RB by PFF. They have the pieces up front, as well. Kelvin Banks Jr. and Taliese Fuaga are a superb OT tandem. Erik McCoy might be the best center in the league, as well.
Minnesota Vikings
Aaron Jones is a modest all-purpose RB, but I wouldn’t peg him as a dangerous north and south runner right now. He also is 31 years old, which is old in RB years. The Vikings have Justin Jefferson and it seems like they are committed to the J.J. McCarthy experiment. I’d love to see Walker in the Twin Cities, as he may be their missing link.
Baltimore Ravens
Derrick Henry and Walker would be the best RB tandem in the league. They could use another spark and future replacement for Henry, who also happens to be 31 years old. I loved their old tandem with J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram. Lamar Jackson also won’t be a threat with his legs forever.
Houston Texans
It would be an understatement to say Nick Chubb is washed up and Woody Marks isn’t a threat. Joe Mixon is also 29 and coming off an injury. The Texans have their QB-WR duo set up nicely (similar to the Saints and Vikings), but they need their true franchise RB.
