Best spots for Robert Saleh in 2026
By: Jake Rajala
The secret is out: Robert Saleh is a hell of a good coach. He’s the best bald defensive coordinator in the league. All jokes aside, he is creating an elite defense and deserves another crack at being a head coach. Hence, I’m going to lay out head coaching spots for Robert Saleh.
Las Vegas Raiders
Saleh could build a potent defense around Mad Maxx Crosby. It seems that the Pete Carroll-Geno Smith experiment is cooked. After all, the Raiders are sitting at 2-13, and the Raiders rank 32nd in PPG. An offense with Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers shouldn’t rank dead last in PPG.
Miami Dolphins
It appears that Mike McDaniel, who struggles against winning teams, could be out in 2026. Sure, he may try throwing his QB Tua Tagovailoa, under the bus. But, fans can recognize that he’s not the sole problem. After all, Tua has led the league in completion percentage and passing yards.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I think everyone lost count on how many f-bombs Todd Bowles dropped after blowing a lead against the Atlanta Falcons. Todd isn’t the answer long-term. He’s a defensive minded HC that has a defense ranked 24th in PPG allowed. I’d love to see what Saleh can do with their front seven.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals aren’t the team they once were in their AFC Championship push. Their defense ranks 32nd in PPG allowed. Trey Hendrickson hasn’t been overly happy with his situation. Furthermore, Joe Burrow has seemed sad as of late. They simply need a fresh start at HC.
Arizona Cardinals
I thought it was a mistake letting Kliff Kingsbury leave the building. He has worked wonders with QBs everywhere he has been. Jacoby Brissett has still been a quality surprise and believe he should be their starter over Kyler Murray. Their defense is also atrocious. They rank 29th in PPG allowed.
Saleh deserves a second chance. It’s hard to blame him for his situation in New York. After all, we’re witnessing Aaron Glenn also suffer in the Big Apple. Hopefully, he can find a place where they have a sharp offensive play caller.
