7 potential trade destinations for Lamar Jackson

Potential trade destinations for Lamar Jackson

By: Jake Rajala

Lamar Jackson has been an admirable starting quarterback, but his efforts have been wasted. He sits at 7-8 right now, and I can’t imagine they will win the AFC North anymore. With that said, there is some speculation that he could be traded. Hence, I”m going to lay out several potential trade destinations for Lamar Jackson.

Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t appear to be the long term answer in Miami anymore. I don’t believe a healthy Tyreek Hill would have saved him. I believe Mike McDaniel will remain the HC. Perhaps the Phins could ship Tua and an early draft pick for Lamar.

Minnesota Vikings

Let’s face it: the Minnesota Vikings should have kept Sam Darnold. J.J. McCarthy has been a dud thus far. Sure, he may be 22 years old. Nonetheless, he still shouldn’t have more interceptions than touchdowns. Justin Jefferson demands answers.

Indianapolis Colts

It’s hard to gauge whether Daniel Jones should be the long term answer. I believe LJ is more reliable than the one year wonder. Danny Dimes may have a lot of wit and arm talent, but could be set back a bit from his injury. Lamar could really open up the offense for Jonathan Taylor.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have too much firepower to struggle on offense. They have Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers. It’s safe to say the Geno Smith-Pete Carroll idea failed. Kenny Pickett isn’t the answer, too. Let’s be fair.

Arizona Cardinals

I really like Jacoby Brissett more than Kyler Murray. However, I don’t like him more than Jackson. The Cardinals need to make a big move if they want to thrive in the NFC West, which is arguably the best NFL division. Marvin Harrison Jr and Trey McBride are one of the best WR-TE tandems in the NFL. This is the second NFC team on the list.

Atlanta Falcons

Kirk Cousins isn’t going to lead the Falcons to the playoffs, and there isn’t a large sample size from Michael Penix Jr. I believe the Falcons, who have Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts, and Drake London, would be the NFL’s best offense with Lamar. They could win a less-than average NFC South division, too.

New York Jets

Lamar would probably not pick the Jets as his first team he’d like to switch to. Nonetheless, the Jets could make a significant offer to acquire his services. They still have Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall on offense. They could draft a WR early in 2026.
