Is Wagner a first ballot Hall of Famer?
By: Jake Rajala
Bobby Wagner was a legend in a Seattle Seahawks uniform. He made nine Pro Bowls in the rain city. Furthermore, he made six first team All-Pro nods. Meanwhile, Luke Kuechly only made five first team AP nods! With that said, a fascinating question surrounds Wagner: Is he a first ballot Hall of Famer? We know he’s a lock to make it into Canton. However, it’s less certain if he will be a “first ballot” HOFer.
Patrick Willis made five first team All-Pro nods and he was a first ballot Hall of Famer. Lukeee wasn’t a first ballot Hall of Famer, however.
Let it be known that Wagner also has a Super Bowl ring. He’s been close to having multiple Super Bowl rings, of course. Obviously, Wagner is still playing and at a high level with that. He could very well make more Pro Bowls to add to his Hall of Fame case. I do expect him to retire soon, however. After all, he is 35 years old. He did go to the NFC Championship last season. Perhaps Jayden Daniels can bounce back and lead his squad to that destination soon.
With that said, I fully expect him to be a “first ballot” Hall of Famer. He’s played for a long time. He has the fifth most tackles all time. Only Ray Lewis, London Fletcher, Derrick Brooks, and Lavonte Davis have more tackles.
Of course, he will also be inducted into the Seattle Seahawks Ring of Honor. Wagner and the members of the “Legion of Boom” (such as Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas) will go down to Seattle Seahawks heaven. There are 14 Seahawks in the Hall of Fame.
