5 offseason goals for the Rams

Offseason goals for the Rams

By: Jake Rajala

The Los Angeles Rams have to regroup and stride to reach the Super Bowl next season. Their division will only be more competitive next season with the 49ers getting healthy and Kyler Murray returning to the Cardinals. With that said, I’m going to lay out five offseason goals for the Rams.

5. Draft a WR

This may sound strange, but I’d like to see the Rams load up even more. When Tom Brady won the Super Bowl with the Buccaneers, he had Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and even Antonio Brown. AB was the x factor in the playoffs. Plus, Davante Adams will likely retire in 1-2 seasons, as he’s 33.

4. Draft a QB

I believe Matthew Stafford will return for another season, especially after having an MVP-like season. He has an elite WR duo and arguably the most creative head coach in Sean McVay. Just as the Packers drafted Jordan Love and the Falcons drafted Michael Penix to replace their once veteran QBs, I’d like to see the Rams draft a QB to replace Stafford, even if he has to sit for a couple of seasons.

3. Keep Chris Shula

The Rams have to do everything to keep Chris Shula. They can’t witness him leave to be an HC, just as Robert Saleh left the 49ers to be an HC. The grandson of Don Shula is one of the best defensive coordinators in the league. Sure they bled against the Seahawks, but it’s playoff football, so anything can happen.

2. Trade up in the first round

The Rams need to load up for another Super Bowl run. They could trade up to select a WR, QB, or a pass rusher. The Rams could find a team that has a quality QB situation and well-rounded defense, such as the Buccaneers or Lions.

1. Extend Puka Nacua

Puka Nacua is arguably the best player in the league. He’s certainly the best WR in my opinion. He is physical, sure-handed, and explosive. The Rams need to prioritize extending him this offseason, before he gets disgruntled like many other WRs.
