Will the Saints sign Breece Hall?

Breece Hall outlook

By: Jake Rajala

The New Orleans Saints are aching for help at running back. Their RB1 entering 2025 was Alvin Kamara. To be serious, Kamara is washed up. PFF ranked him as the dead last RB in the league. He’s 30 years old. He doesn’t have the elusiveness and juice anymore. In 11 games, AK recorded 471 rushing yards and 186 recieving yards.

Kamara hasn’t made a Pro Bowl in the last four years.

Kamara didn’t have any 100+ yard rushing yards in a game this season. I really believe Audric Estime is a better option than Kamara right now. He’s undrafted and he had zero expectations to shine this season.

With that said, it makes a ton of sense for the Saints to bring in a RB in free agency. All they are missing is a stud RB, as they have Chris Olave at WR and Tyler Shough at QB. The answer may be none other than Breece Hall. PFF believes Hall and the Saints are a perfect marriage.

As noted by PFF, “the Saints used inside zone 35% of the time, which was the most in the league”. The Jets had the third highest PFF grade on inside zone runs this season.

Hall isn’t only available, but he’s in his prime! He unleashed 1,065 rushing yards and averaged 4.4 YPC. Look away Kamara, Hall had four 100+ yard rushing games! This came with a subpar offensive line, too.

Hall is the perfect one-cut RB that Kellen Moore desires. Under Moore, Saquon Barkley ran for 2k yards and was put on the Madden cover. Hall can be a Pro Bowl RB with the Saints. The Saints have pieces upfront for Miller to shine. They have Erik McCoy at center, who is arguably the best center in the NFL.

I would like to see the Saints trade Kamara to get something from him. They should bring back Kendre Miller in my opinion. He’s still 23 years old, so he has the future in his palms.

The Saints went from having a few quality RBs under Sean Payton to not having one key RB right now. They had Pierre Thomas, Reggie Bush, and Mike Bell in their Super Bowl winning year. They need at least one quality RB in 2026.

The Saints play-action game could be cooking with a Pro Bowl RB. Tyler Shough stands out with the play-action game and on the run. The Saints should be thankful that Shough can still dazzle when the running game struggles and when they often end up with third and long situations.
