Saints free agents outlook
By: Jake Rajala
The New Orleans Saints have a lot of difficult choices with their 2026 free agents this offseason. They obviously want to bring all of their best free agents back, but there needs to be mutual interest and the right price. This applies to every team’s situation. With that simply said, I’m going to unfold what they should do with their “top” free agents.
Taysom Hill: leave
Taysom Hill lost a step this season. He’s 35 years old, which is pretty old for a player who gets a lot of carries. Hill had a nice goodbye to Who Dat nation against the Jets, where he unleashed a passing touchdown. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hill went back to join Sean Payton for a season or two. We all fell in love with Hill’s story ever since he made a tackle on kickoff. Nonetheless, all good things must come to an end.
Demario Davis: keep
The All-Pro LB Demario Davis had a career high amount of tackles, with 143 in 2025. He also had two forced fumbles and six tackles for loss. Davis is also a fine leader. The Saints were already 19th in rushing YPG allowed. They can’t afford to lose DD. Pete Werner and Danny Stutsman are borderline starters, but I’d be surprised if they trusted them in big moments.
Cameron Jordan: leave
Cameron Jordan had 10.5 sacks last season, but he is also 37 this offseason. I’d like to see them bring in a young edge rusher on Day 2. Chase Young had a splendid 2025 season. He is the future of the spot. I also expect Jordan to join a Super Bowl contender. Jordan or Davis could also retire.
Alontae Taylor: KEEP
The Saints need to focus on keeping Alontae Taylor. They already traded away Marshon Lattimore and let Paulson Adebo leave in recent memory. Taylor is quite a versatile player and a gifted CB. He can dominate from the slot, and he’s an effective blitzer. He had several tackles for loss in each of his past two seasons. He also had two sacks last season and four in the season before that. Taylor and Kool-Aid McKinstry are the long-term answers at CB.
Foster Moreau: keep
With Hill most likely leaving, it’s especially vital for the Saints to keep Foster Moreau. The former Raider is a modest blocker and he can be a solid red zone threat. I’d still like to see the Saints sign another FA TE this offseason. No, Jimmy Graham isn’t an option anymore.
The Saints have a couple of old pieces on defense that require serious discussion, regarding their fit in 2026 and beyond. Of course, I’m talking about Jordan and Davis. I’d like to see them keep Davis and let Jordan test free agency. I wouldn’t be shocked if Davis and Jordan wanted to join a Top-5 team before retiring. After all, they can still be Saints Hall of Famers at the end of the day.
