Best destinations for Von Miller
By: Jake Rajala
The Super Bowl winner, All-Pro, and legendary pass rusher, Von Miller, will be a free agent in 2026. With that said, I’m going to lay out the best landing spots for Miller.
Denver Broncos
Miller has expressed interest in returning to the Denver Broncos. After all, it’s where it all began for him. The Broncos already led the league in sacks without him. They could have a historically good defense with Miller in their defensive unit. Not only is Denver home to Miller, but they are also a team that has a real shot at winning the Super Bowl. If Bo Nix didn’t get hurt, I really believe the Broncos would have beaten the Patriots in the AFC Championship.
Dallas Cowboys
Miller went to college in Texas. It could be a nice welcome from Dallas Cowboys fans to see him back. The Cowboys need more pass rush help after they moved on from Micah Parsons. They were 22nd in sacks last season. They have Quinnen Williams, but he is more of a run stopper. Miller could help the Boys finally return to the playoffs.
Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams are the second home to Miller. They don’t have Aaron Donald anymore, but they do have Jared Verse. Miller and Verse could wreak havoc side by side. The Rams are also a Super Bowl contender, which should make Miller intrigued by joining them. The LA Rams were 11th in sacks, but they could be Top-5 with Miller, in my opinion.
Washington Commanders
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Miller is clearly finding some success with the Commanders. He had nine sacks last season. That was his most sacks in a single season since 2021! The Commanders may not come across as a Super Bowl contender, however. Jayden Daniels took a big step back, even when he was healthy. He was 2-5 as a starter.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers were dead last in sacks last season. Even with Nick Bosa, they haven’t been an elite pass rush. I’d like to see them take a sharp look at Miller. Brock Purdy went 7-2 last season. With a healthy Purdy, they should be a strong playoff contender. The 49ers will also welcome back Fred Warner on defense.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints were 5-4 under Tyler Shough. I expect them to even have a better record with him next season. The Saints have Chase Young and Carl Granderson. It’s a little murky afterward. Cameron Jordan is a free agent and may wish to leave. This would leave a void. If Jordan stays, they could still use another edge rusher in their rotation.
Las Vegas Raiders
Maxx Crosby and Miller would be a highly talented edge rushing duo. The Raiders need more pass rushing talent, as they play a very impressive group of QBs (Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Bo Nix) in their division. The Raiders were also 19th in sacks, so there’s certainly room to improve.
Honorable Mention:
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens have a scary secondary (led by Kyle Hamilton), but they could use more pass rushers. The Ravens were 28th in sacks last season. Their best pass rusher was arguably Travis Jones, who was a DT with five sacks. Terrell Suggs can’t save them. They need a new DE to help them hunt down the likes of Joe Burrow and Aaron Rodgers.
