5 potential destinations for Joe Flacco

Potential destinations for Joe Flacco

By: Jake Rajala

Joe Flacco could be known for a couple of things. For one, he’s a Super Bowl champion. He was clutch in the playoffs, as he threw 3 touchdowns in the Super Bowl. The second thing he’s known for him not be as sexy. Flacco (and Shedeur Sanders) didn’t exactly deserve to be in the Pro Bowl. With that said, Flacco still has a cannon and experience. So, I’m going to lay out potential destinations for him.

Cincy

The Cincinnati Bengals need insurance at QB as Joe Burrow often gets injured. Flacco didn’t win a lot of games, but he did put his team in a position to win at the end of the day. The Bengals defense didn’t do their part, to say the least. They ranked 30th in PPG allowed and 23rd in sacks. They need Trey Hendrickson back.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts should bring in another elder man at QB. This time, I’d like to see a slightly younger QB than Philip Rivers. Flacco can be that guy. If the Colts bring back Daniel Jones, he is not a guarantee that he will be a stud and that he will last 17 games. He has only played in one full season in his career. He hasn’t thrown more than 20 touchdowns in a season, as well.

Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have a shaky QB situation. Kyler Murray is rumored to be a trade candidate. He only has one winning record in a season in his career. In four of his seasons, he’s thrown over 10 interceptions. He also only played in five games this season, eight seasons in 2023, and he even missed a few games in 2021. Jacoby Brissett has talend (and his my fantasy QB), but he went 1-11 last season. I’d love to see a new QB that brings more competition.

Las Vegas Raiders

Fernando Mendoza may be the first overall pick, but it’s unclear if he’s ready to lead a team into battle. Mendoza could be an apprentice to Flacco. Joe cool may even be the safe pick to start. Klint Kubiak made magic happen with the veteran Sam Darnold. If he has a veteran QB that doesn’t make silly mistakes, then he can guide the QB to give it to the playmakers in space and let them go to work.

New Orleans Saints

The 2025 second round pick, Tyler Shough, is the answer at QB. Hence, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Saints trade away Spencer Rattler. Obviously, this would leave a void at QB2. It should also be noted that Shough has had numerous injuries in his past. They would need a well-established QB2 ready to play.

Honorable Mention:

Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings need a new and improved QB, as J.J. McCarthy isn’t the answer. They could make the playoffs with an average QB given the talent surrounding their QB spot. After all, they went 9-8. They need a QB, but I believe they will seek to have a QB better than Flacco.
