Who is the best replacement option for Hill?
By: Jake Rajala
The Tyreek Hill chapter in Miami has come to a close. The 31 year old has been released by the Dolphins. I still believe Hill, who was voted the best overall player in 2024, has some gas left in the tank. With that said, I’m going to lay out some replacement options for Hill.
Christian Kirk
It won’t be easy for the Phins to acquire one of the most illustrious wide receivers in free agency. I’d like to see them get a second tier wideout. Christian Kirk can wreak havoc from the slot, and he has impressive deep speed. He had two touchdowns in the playoffs. He also had 144 receiving yards against the Steelers. Kirk is a couple of years younger than Hill.
Romeo Doubs
The Packers WR Romeo Doubs will be a FA in 2026. I believe the Packers will “seek to rebuild their WR spot” and help their young QB advance in the playoffs. Doubs is still a modest WR. He recorded 724 receiving yards and six touchdowns last season. He is in his prime at 25 years old.
Garrett Wilson
Let’s face it: the Jets are rebuilding. They traded away two top notch, young defenders in the 2025 season. They also benched Justin Fields. I believe they may lose Breece Hall in free agency, too. Perhaps it would be wise to ship away Garrett Wilson with aims of drafting a QB in round one or round two.
Keenan Allen
Keenan Allen is one of the most productive wideouts over the age of 30. Yes, he’s 33! Allen notched 777 receiving yards last season. He has only had one season below 700 yards, and that was when he played one game in a season. I do believe Allen will most likely play two more seasons at most.
JuJu Smith-Schuster
JuJu fell apart after his second season. He has failed to notch 1k+ yards since then. I still believe he can record 700+ yards, as he unleashed 933 yards in 2022. JuJu is excellent in space and can run any route. He’s also 6’1, 215, so he’s not easy to bring down. If he doesn’t return to KC, I’d love to see him go to the Phins.
Honorable Mention:
Brandon Aiyuk
I fully expect the 49ers to trade away Brandon Aiyuk. He has a lot of athletic ability, similar to Hill. Aiyuk was once an All-Pro under Kyle Shanahan. I really believe Aiyuk can be a Pro Bowler in Miami. The Phins have earlier draft picks than most teams, so that may help them acquire the 49ers WR.
