NFC South: Best free agents available

Best free agents in the NFC South

By: Jake Rajala

The NFC South was one of the worst NFL divisions last season. Nonetheless, there is still talent in the NFC South. In particular, there is talent in the division that is entering free agency. So, I’m going to lay out the best free agents in the division.

Mike Evans

Mike Evans isn’t retiring. Rather, he will pursue his second Super Bowl ring. Evans isn’t washed up. 2025 was the first time he didn’t record 1k+ yards. His hamstring injury limited him to eight games. Evans is 32 years old, so I can’t imagine that he will play more than a couple of seasons.

Kyle Pitts

Kyle Pitts is a menace at the tight end spot. He was struggling in 2024, but he improved in 2025. He notched 928 yards and five touchdowns. Furthermore, PFF ranked him as the second best TE. Yes, you read that correctly. He is also in his prime at 25 years old. He will play for many more seasons.

Demario Davis

Demario Davis is like fine wine. He continues to improve with age. He had a career-high 143 combined tackles last season. He has been named second team All-Pro four times and first team AP once with the Saints. The downside is that he is 37 years old, so he will most likely play 1-2 more seasons at most.

Lavonte David

Lavonte David will most likely pursue a Super Bowl at this stage in his career. He already won one Super Bowl with Tom Brady. Well, Baker Mayfield isn’t the GOAT, so David may pursue to play with an elite QB and well-rounded roster. David recorded 114 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and eight tackles for loss last season.

Taysoom Hill

The ultimate swiss army knife, Taysom Hill, was emotional after his last home playoff game this season. I anticipate that he will leave in free agency. Hill can do it all. He can run well, have consistent hands, be a stellar blocker, and even block punts. On the flipside, he is 35 years old, so he will most likely play a couple more seasons at most.

The NFC South has more top notch free agent profiles. This list is my favorite group of FAs in the division. Most of the FAs that I listed are near retirement and looking to win a Super Bowl before they hang up their cleats.
