Who is the best backup QB target for the Packers?

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis fled to a team where he could be a starting quarterback. In Jordan Love’s time away from the field last season, he proved that he had a lot of upside. With that said, I’m going to lay out many backup QB targets for the Packers.
Geno Smith
I don’t believe Geno Smith proved that he was a Top-32 QB last season. He still has a lot of arm talent. I would just like to see a change in scenery for him. Matt LaFleur is a better offensive mind than Chip Kelly, who didn’t even survive the season. Smith is 35, so he has a few seasons left in him.
Gardner Minshew
Minshew Mania peaked as a rookie. I still believe that version of him is somewhere in him. Gardner didn’t quite stand out in a Chiefs uniform. Perhaps he wants to play in a simpler scheme and with a better running game. Minshew is 29 years old, so he could be the Packers QB2 for a while.
Taysom Hill
Taysom Hill is a quality QB2. He was also a Green Bay Packer to kick off his career. It would be sort of a home reunion if he went to the Packers. Hill was once compared to Steve Young, by Sean Payton. Obviously, I don’t believe he is that talented. Nonetheless, he does have freak athletic ability, as he can squat over 600 pounds and run a 4.4 40 yard dash. The downside is that he’s 35 years old, so he won’t be around too much longer.
Marcus Mariota
Marcus Mariota hasn’t won a lot of games this season (two). However, he has kept his team competitive for many of the games he lost. He threw 10 TDs to 7 ints. He also had 297 rushing yards. Mariota may want to join a playoff contender at this stage in his career. Love has been known to miss time, too. He missed two games in each of his last two seasons.
Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson isn’t the same QB that he was when he won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks. He still has an impressive deep throw, athletic ability, and leadership. He still made the Pro Bowl in 2024. However, he’s not elite anymore. Furthermore, he is 37 years old, so he may only be around for a couple more seasons.
