5 potential replacements for Maxx Crosby

Replacements for Maxx Crosby

By: Jake Rajala

There have been a lot of trade rumors surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro pass rusher, Maxx Crosby, to say the least. If Mad Maxx gets traded, they will need a proper replacement. So I’m going to lay out potential replacements for Maxx Crosby.

Al Quadin Muhammad

Al Quadin was a near Pro Bowler last season. He had 11 sacks, 20 QB hits, nine TFLs, and had 25 tackles. PFF gave him an admirable grade of 74.3. He is the same age as Garrett, who won DPOY last season. If he doesn’t return to the Lions, I foresee him getting a hefty contract elsewhere.

Von Miller

Von Miller may be 36, but he’s still playing at a high level. He notched nine sacks, 15 QB hits, and six TFLs. He missed four games in 2024, so his production wasn’t quite as impressive as last season. I do expect him to play a couple of more seasons at most.

Cameron Jordan

Cameron Jordan and Miller came out of the same draft. Similar to Miller, Jordan didn’t shine in 2024, but stepped up to the plate last season. Jordan unleashed 10.5 sacks and 15 TFLs! He also had 47 combined tackles. Jordan had a 76 PFF grade last season. Jordan is well-rounded and clutch.

Derek Barnett

If it wasn’t a surprise, Derek Barnett is the youngest pass rusher on this list. He is 29 years old. He’s not as impressive as the three edge rushrs above him. Barnett had had 5 sacks in each of his past two seasons. He had eight TFLs last season. Let it be known that he was a DE3 at Texans, as Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter start above him.

Dante Fowler Jr.

The former high draft pick, Fowler Jr, didn’t play like a Pro Bowler last season. I still believe his 2024 season where he unleashed 10.5 sacks and 14 TFLs is somewhere in him. Fowler Jr. is 31, so he could have a few seasons left in him. PFF gave him a modest grade of 77.6.
