Best RB targets for the Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have talent on offense. In particular, they have a bell-cow, gifted running back by the name of Ashton Jeanty. Despite his modest rookie season, the Raiders ranked 32nd in rushing YPG. So, I believe they could benefit from another stout RB. Hence, I’m going to lay out RB targets for them.

Kareem Hunt

I can’t imagine the Raiders will break the bank (or be a dream attraction) for one of the top free agent running backs. So, I’d like to see them aggressive for a second-tier FA RB. Kareem Hunt would be an ideal fit. He is a bowling ball and short yardage machine. He had eight rushing touchdowns last season.

Nick Chubb

Nick Chubb is a tad washed up, but he still sees the field well. He is also consistent and difficult to bring down. He averaged 4.1 YPC and had 506 rushing yards last season. He filled in for Joe Mixon, who had a “freak medical condition”. Chubb is 30 years old, similar to Hunt, so I believe he only has a couple of seasons left in him at most.

Kenneth Gainwell

Kenneth Gainwell is a superb RB who is in his prime. He ran for 537 rushing yards and averaged 4.7 YPC. The most impressive part is that he recorded 73 catches. He could be a security blanket in the passing game for Fernando Mendoza. He had a PFF grade of 73.8 last season.

Brian Robinson

Bria Robinson is one of the most underrated FA RBs. He notched 797 rushing yards, 733 rushing yards, 799 rushing yards, and then 400 rushing yards last season. In the right situation, I believe he can come close to rushing around 1k yards. Let’s not forget that he is 26 years old, too.

A.J. Dillon

I’m not ready to put a nail in the coffin on A.J. Dillon’s career. He only had 60 rushing yards last season, but he recorded 613 rushing yards with the Packers in 2023. I’d like to see him shake off the rust and use his thighs to be a modest RB2. He does have similar traits to Jeanty, as well.

Honorable Mention:

Jerome Ford

Jerome Ford is quite the pass catcher at the RB spot. He notched 44 catches in 2023, 37 catches in 2024, and 26 catches last season. Ford could be lightning, while Jeanty is thunder. Ford is 26 years old, so he still has room to improve. I’d like to see him take a one year prove it deal with a team where he will get involved well.
