Should the Saints bring back Taysom Hill?

Would it be wise to bring back Taysom Hill?

Taysom Hill is the ultimate swiss army knife. He can run, catch, and even throw! He has 4.4 speed and he can squat 600 pounds. To be fair, he isn’t quite the same skill player that can break three to four tackles, which we witnessed against the Vikings in the playoffs or Thanksgiving a few years ago.

With that said, a fascinating question arrives: Should the Saints bring back Taysom Hill?

I don’t believe so.

This reminds me of Cordarrelle Patterson, who is 35 and unemployed. Hill could be a TE3, but he’s not worth getting the ball 10-15 times. The Saints don’t only have Alvin Kamara and Travis Etienne in the running game, but they also have Jordyn Tyson joining Chris Olave, Devaughn Vele, and Juwan Johnson in the passing game. Tyler Shough can also make plays with his legs.

I’d love to see him join the Denver Broncos and Sean Payton, where he could get QB runs and QB draws in the right situation. I’d say Hill may have 3 seasons left in him. He’s a freak athlete with a high motor.

The Broncos have to think outside the box if they want to sweep teams like Kansas City or Los Angeles. If the Broncos didn’t suffer an injury with Bo Nix, I really believe that the Broncos would have been in the Super Bowl.

Hill could also be a QB2 in Denver. Payton compared him to Steve Young, even if that was slightly off. Hill is an upgrade over Jarrett Stidham and it’s not a discussion. Hill is 7-2 as a passer right now. Furthermore, Stidham has gone 17-31, 133 passing yards, and 1 TD, and 1 interception. This includes a loss.

If the Saints trade away Spencer Rattler, I believe it will be Zach Wilson’s role to lose as their backup QB. This could still mean that the Saints take a sharp look at Hill to compete for the backup role.
