Adonai Mitchell rising up in OTAs right now

There is no excuse: the New York Jets should have a lot of firepower. They haven’t paid Top-10 QB money. Hence, they should have other positions (especially skill players) well-paid. I do like they brought back the stud running back Breece Hall, but I don’t want the bus to stop there.
The Jets have the youngster Garrett Wilson. He had three straight 1k yard seasons before 2025. Sadly, he had a knee injury and he only played in several games last season.
This puts a lot of pressure on a fella by the name of Adonai Mitchell. He was the Jets 2024 second round pick. He only recorded 453 yards last season, but he has already shown a lot of growth this offseason.
Let’s not forget that this wideout is 24 years old! He is a year younger than Wilson.
James Gruter of LWOS noted that he’s standing out thus far. Geno Smith called him a “baller” and “alpha of the room”.
Mitchell will be duking it out for the WR2 spot with Omar Cooper Jr. Each WR showcases unique strengths. Cooper Jr. was the Jets 2026 first round pick. He was compared to Deebo Samuel by Lance Zierlein of NFL.com.
With that all said, I don’t want to burst any bubbles, but I’d still like to see the Jets bring in another WR. We witnessed the Giants bring in OBJ, JuJu, and Braxton Berrios. Perhaps the Jets want to bring in Stefon Diggs, Michael Thomas or Deebo Samuel.
In 2027, I want to see the Jets bring in a QB early in the draft. I’d also like to see them break the bank for a “veteran” WR. The Jets will realize this season that they need more juice at WR if they want to keep pace with the Patriots and the Bills in their division.
