Will this be DK Metcalf’s last season in Pittsburgh?

Aaron Rodgers is a future Hall of Famer. There is no debate.
A-Rod has been with the Pittsburgh Steelers over the past two seasons. In 2026, he was able to reunite with his former head coach Mike McCarthy.
His number one weapon is none other than DK Metcalf. He is a poor man’s version of Calvin Johnsob course, Rodgers is familiar with “Megatron”. Metcalf unleashed 850 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games last season.
I expect him to improve with his second year in the system with Rodgers. I want to pose a question: Will Metcalf leave the Steelers after Rodgers leaves?
Obviously, it depends. If the future starter isn’t a Top-15 QB, I’d like to see Metcalf leave. So, if Mason Rudolph is the future QB, I’d love to see him find a more superior fit. He can join a team that has a legit shot at winning it all.
Don’t get me wrong, Metcalf can still put up impressive numbers with a bottom 10 QB. He had 992 yards and five touchdowns with Geno Smith at QB in 2024. He can shine with any QB, but that doesn’t mean that same QB can be clutch and lead a team to victory when it matters.
Metcalf still deserves to join a Super Bowl contender, just as every veteran does. So, which team would be a quality fit for him in 2027?
Kansas City Chiefs
This is a slam dunk. The Kansas City Chiefs lost Hollywood Browns and JuJu from last season. Travis Kelce is most likely playing his last season, as well. Xavier Worthy has failed to be a 1k yard WR in his young career. Metcalf would be the best WR Mahomes has played with since Tyreek Hill.
Buffalo Bills
DJ Moore is a quality WR. I still believe his WR1 days are behind him. He only had 682 yards and six touchdowns last season. To be fair, he did have 966 yards in 2024 and 1,364 yards in 2023! He’s not a Pro Bowl WR just yet. Khalil Shakir is a modest WR3. I wouldn’t peg him as a WR2 just yet. I would peg Metcalf and Luther Burden as the future of their WR room. Ben Johnson has raved about Burden, who was a rookie last season.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders have very impressive pieces on offense, such as their RB (Ashton Jeanty at RB, Fernando Mendoza at QB, and Brock Bowers at TE). They are just missing a potent WR! Klint Kubiak made a lot of magic happen with Jaxon Smith-Njgiba last season in Seattle. He can more wonders with Metcalf.
