Which coaches are on the hot seat in 2026?

The NFL stands for “Not For Long”. Whether it’s a player or coach, it’s not easy to have a long career in one location. With that said, I’m going to talk about some coaches that could be fired and sent away from their home.

Todd Monken

The Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken is in a difficult situation. He needs to fix Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders. In other words, Monken needs to bring back the MVP-caliber days from Watson, or make Sanders the same QB he was once in college. The Browns have an excellent defense right now. If Todd struggles, it may be wise to bring back the former Browns defensive guru Gregg Williams.

I thought Deshaun Watson's quote on Todd Monken's offense from the other day was interesting:

Kellen Moore

The young New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore needs to jolt Tyler Shough. The former second round pick (Shough) went 5-4 last season. If Moore can develop Shough a little, that should be enough on offense. They will still need their defense, which lost Demario Davis and potentially Cameron Jordan, to be modest.

Aaron Glenn

It’s not impressive when your defense doesn’t record a single interception. I don’t love that they snagged Geno Smith to try and make them more competitive. They mine as well bring back Adam Gase while they are at it. I do like that they kept Breece Hall and drafted Kenyon Sadiq. I hope they can get really creative in their divisional tilts, as they have far less talent than the rest of the AFC East.

Kevin O’Connell

It’s quite clear: the Vikings don’t have a clear-cut QB1 on their roster. If Kyler Murray or J.J. McCarthy don’t play like a Top-20 QB, I believe they will go down in flames and bring Kevin O’Connell with them. Justin Jefferson proved he isn’t enough by himself for the Vikings to win the division.

Dan Quinn

Dan Quinn took a step back last season. He went 5-12 a season ago. To make matters worse, his young QB (Jayden Daniels) had a sophomore slump. It makes sense to hire an HC that could clean up the mistakes by Jayden Daniels. I’d like to see the Commanders get at least a winning record for Quinn to save his job.

Honorable Mention:

Dan Campbell

Dan Campbell needs to prove that he can make the playoffs without Ben Johnson. The Lions arguably have a Top- offense. On defense, they have Aidan Hutchinson, Jack Campbell, and impressive pieces in their secondary (such as Brian Branch).
