Candidates to be Aidan Hutchinson’s complement edge

Who could be Aidan Hutchinson’s edge partner?

By: Jake Rajala

Aidan Hutchinson could very well go down as one of the best pass rushers of all time, if he stays healthy. He still needs a partner. Will Anderson is a Top-5 pass rusher, but he still has a complement in Danielle Hunter. So, I’m going to unveil candidates to be Hutchinson’s partner.

Kavyon Thibodeaux

This is a slam dunk. Kavyon should get a Barry Sanders jersey. The GMEN have Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, and even Arvell Reese can play on the edge and DL. Kavyon is expendable, in other words. He is still 25 years old, so he has plenty of potential.

Von Miller

Von Miller may not be the same Super Bowl MVP that he once was. He can still be lethal, especially on third downs. He recorded nine sacks a season ago! Miller witnessed his veteran pal, Cameron Jordan, return to the Saints. It’s his turn to find a home. The Lions can still make the playoffs, if their defense improves a little. Miller can be that difference.

Jonathon Cooper

The Broncos led the league in sacks last season. Perhaps they can spread some love. Nik Bonnito is their alpha on their front seven. Jonathan Cooper is a modest pass rusher. He had eight sacks last season, which came after his 10.5 sack season. He is 28 years old, so he’s in his prime. Let’s also not hide the fact he had an off-field incident that could make him more expendable.

Maxx Crosby

This would be a very huge deal if it occurred. The Lions would have the best pass rusher tandem in the league if Mad Maxx came to the Motor City. Let’s be fair, Crosby is on a “rebuilding” team right now. He needs to spend his effort on a team that has a Top-5 offense. Per Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report, the Raiders should trade Crosby “now” and not later.

Joey Bosa

Joey Bosa didn’t lead the league in sacks last season. However, he did lead the league in forced fumbles (5). He is a high motor, versatile, aggressive being. Joey went to pursue a Super Bowl ring with the Buffalo Bills. I believe a change to an underrated NFC team would be wise.

The Lions were fourth in sacks last season. There is still plenty of room to grow. If they can find a prominent EDGE player to compliment Hutch for their squad, they could lead the entire league in sacks.
