Steelers WR targets
By: Jake Rajala
The Pittsburgh Steelers can’t take their foot off the pedal. The future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers is playing his last season. They have to do everything they can to help him finish on a bang.
The Steelers have DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. at WR. They also have the behemoth Darnell Washington at TE. That blatantly isn’t enough. The Ravens will be in a position to make the playoffs in the end, mark my words. Joe Burrow also went 5-3 when he was healthy.
With that said, I’m going to lay out WR targets for the Steelers.
Keenan Allen
Drew VonScio of Last Word on Sports suggested that Keenan Allen is a fine fit for the Who Dat Nation. He said, “With Metcalf and Pittman primarily as outside wide receivers, Allen would thrive for the Steelers as the WR3.” Allen had 81 grabs last season, which is impressive for his age (34).
Scary Terry
Terry McLaurin is on his last legs. I believe he would rather play with a Pro Bowl-QB than a QB that just went 3-8 last season. Scary Terry recorded 13 touchdowns in 2024, which is quite a feat. Last season was a blur for McLaurin. He merely played in 10 games.
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill is a picky free agent. He will likely want to go play with a Super Bowl contender. Well, I believe the Steelers are well-rounded enough to capture the interest from Hill. Hill was either injured (four games played last season) or playing with a lackluster QB situation.
Deebo Samuel
McLaurin’s former partner in crime, Deebo Samuel, would also be a strong fit for the Steelers. He can be similar to what Cordarrelle Patterson was with the Steelers. Samuel recorded 727 yards receiving. I’d like to see him get the ball more from the tail-back spot.
Travis Hunter
This one may really get me in trouble. The Jags simply didn’t know how to utilize Travis Hunter last season. I want to see him play WR in 2026 and then replace Jalen Ramsey at CB in 2027. The Steelers would still have to break the bank for Hunter, don’t get me wrong.
The Steelers really need more firepower if they want to go from a powerhouse in the AFC North to an alpha team in the AFC! Hopefully, the Steelers can add another pass catcher and everyone can stay healthy.
