Ranking NFC West teams heading into 2026

Ranking NFC West teams

By: Jake Rajala

The NFC West is absolutely loaded with talent. Three of the four teams could make a serious case to win the Super Bowl. With that simply said, I’m going to rank the NFC West teams.

4. Arizona Cardinals

This one is easy. The Arizona Cardinals don’t have an answer at quarterback. They have Jacoby Brissett (who was my fantasy QB), but even he went 1-11 last season! Carson Beck isn’t shining in the offseason just yet. The Cardinals defense also wishes J.J. Watt or Tyrann Mathieu came out of retirement to help them. They were 29th in PPG allowed last season.

3. Seattle Seahawks

This one may get me in trouble. The loss of former offensive coordinator, Klint Kubiak, will be enormous, in my opinion. Sam Darnold is closer to Matt Hasselback than Patrick Mahomes. To put it bluntly, he needs help! The Seahawks also lost Kenneth Walker, who can be a Pro Bowler with a significant workload. I would like to see Jadeveon Clowney reunite with the Hawks.

2. San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy went 7-2 last season. Yes, you just read that. The 49ers also only got 11 games out of George Kittle and three games from Nick Bosa! If the 49ers can stay healthy, they can get 12 wins. Kyle Shanahan is a genius and his OC is none other than Klay Kubiak. The only thing preventing Shanny getting his first Super Bowl are the Los Angeles Rams.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams have to be the favorite to win the Super Bowl next season. Trent McDuffie is a baller. He recorded a 75.6 PFF grade a season ago, which was 12th among CBs. Obviously, the biggest move by the Rams or any other team, was getting Myles Garrett. Les Snead loves to make blockbuster trades.

The NFC West is more competitive than any other NFL division. Each team faces unique challenges. Can the Cardinals find a new, talented QB before the season? As for the 49ers, can they stay healthy? Finally, can Matthew Stafford prove he hasn’t lost a step?

I’d love to see head to head NFC West showdowns late in the season. These games should be crucial and tight.
