Best landing spots for Trevon Diggs

Best spots for Trevon Diggs

By: Jake Rajala

Trevon Diggs was once the biggest ball-hawk in the league. He unleashed 11 interceptions in 2021. In 2024, he recorded 11 pass deflections and two interceptions.

So, Diggs is a free agent. He went with the Pack after being on waivers last season. The question is: Where will he sign next? Well, I’m going to lay out potential fits for him.

New York Jets

The J-E-T-S didn’t have any interceptions last season. This happened despite having an head coach (Aaron Glenn) that specializes in teaching defensive backs how to compete. The Jets also no longer have Sauce Gardner after shipping him away to Indy.

Green Bay Packers

Diggs has some chemistry with the Packers defense, as he went there last season. It also doesn’t hurt that his pal, Micah Parsons, is on the Packers (after they were on the Cowboys together). I get that the Pack want to have young defenders, but they still need to sprinkle in some veterans. Keisean Nixon is two years older than Diggs and he’s half as talented. In other words, they shouldn’t be scared to bring back Diggs.

Cleveland Browns

The Browns have been heavily rumored with trading away Denzel Ward. If they move Ward, it would be nice to have a replacement for him. Insert Diggs. The Browns will need all the help they can get, as they play Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson twice a season each.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints have Kool-Aid McKinstry, who has been a quality CB as of late. I’d like to see them have a quality CB2. They moved on from Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo in recent memory. If Diggs can rekindle some of his magic from a few years ago, the Saints pass defense would be potent.

Dallas Cowboys

Diggs may return to where it all started. He may be hungry to redeem himself in Dallas. The Boys need him, as well. Their defense had six interceptions for bloody sake. He would likely be the CB3 in Dallas. However, if he could get a few ints, that would go a long way.

Honorable Mention:

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks defense was first in PPG allowed last season. It’s tempting for any defender to join them. Their secondary isn’t the “Legion of Boom”, but they do have some studs on it, such as Josh Jobe and Devon Witherspoon. Diggs could be the CB2 on it.

Diggs deserves to go out swining. He has had his production wasted. He needs to find a team that will put him in his best spot and help him win.
