NFC South predictions
By: Jake Rajala
The NFC South doesn’t have the most talent. However, it is one of the most tight NFL divisions. Three teams had eight wins. With that said, I’m going to lay out predictions in where each team will place.
4. Atlanta Falcons
I have to believe that former Phins QB Tua Tagovailoa is the worst QB in the division. The Falcons have Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Kyle Pitts, but I’m not sold on Tua being clutch. After all, not even Tyreek Hill could save him. The Falcons don’t have the most intimidating defense. They were 19th in PPG allowed and they didn’t have an alpha on D.
3. Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young is everything that Cleveland expected Johnny Manziel to be. The Panthers offense also has Tetairoa McMillan. Of course, he won OROY last season. The Panthers defense was 29th in sacks, however. They will get picked apart if they can’t get to the QB.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I love Baker Mayfield’s style. I just don’t love their offensive outlook without Mike Evans. Hopefully, Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka are up for the challenge and that they can stay healthy. Their defense isn’t the same unit that won the Super Bowl. Suh, Lavonte David, JPP, and Shaq Barrett are no longer on the roster.
New Orleans Saints
I really like the Saints offseason. They brought in Jordyn Tyson to help Chris Olave. Furthermore, they signed Travis Etienne to help Alvin Kamara. They lost Demario Davis in free agency, but they retained Cameron Jordan and Chase Young. I would have liked to see the Saints bring in another WR, such as Keenan Allen, or Tyreek Hill.
The NFC South should be much improved next season. I’m not saying they will be the NFC West in 2026. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if two teams have 11+ wins and two more teams to float around .500. I don’t quite believe that the Saints or Bucs are ready to be a Super Bowl contender, however. They don’t have an elite defense or a proven group of weapons.
