Potential Replacements for Jordyn Tyson

Replacements for Jordyn Tyson

By: Jake Rajala

The news is out: the New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is out for two months! With that simply said, I’m going to lay out potential replacements for him.

Kayshon Boutte

It’s been widely reported that the New England Patriots wideout Kayshon Boutte is a popular trade candidate. They brought in Romeo Doubs and recently Stefon Diggs this offseason. Boutte still has a lot of potential in him, as he is 24! He had six touchdowns and 551 yards, which isn’t bad for a sixth round pick.

Jayden Reed

The Green Bay Packers have Christian Watson and 2025 first round pick Matthew Golden. Golden is ready to have an increased role for the Pack. This leaves Jayden Reed somewhat expendable. Reed had 857 yards in 2024. He sort of fell off a cliff last season, as he only played in seven games. I trust Reed to bounce back.

Travis Hunter

I don’t love the split reps between CB and WR for Travis Hunter. I’d love to see him try and develop at the WR spot. I don’t believe Jacksonville is the place. The Jags WR Brian Thomas Jr. and Parker Washington are cemented as the top two WRs. Jakobi Meyers is also a fine WR3.

DeAndre Hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins can go up and “moss” opposing cornerbacks. He can make sideline catches with ease. D-Hop only had 330 yards last season, but he was buried on a Ravens WR depth chart with a dual threat QB. However, he is 34 years old. He will likely play 1-2 more seasons.

Michael Wilson

Michael Thomas would be quite the luxury. All he did last season was haul in 1,006 yards and seven touchdowns. Let it be known that he is also 26 years old. Wilson is a stud on the out-side and in the slot. The Cardinals are rebuilding their offense. They have Jeremiyah Love at RB and Carson Beck at QB. Perhaps it’s wise to ship away Wilson.

Andrei Losivas

The Bengals have the best WR in football in Ja’Marr Chase. After him, they have Tee Higgins. Those two turn out to be a Top-5 WR duo. At WR3, they showcase Andrei Losivas. He was a 2023 sixth round pick. He would be a low-risk, high reward. He can obtain around 700 yards in a season.

Michael Thomas

This one may seem like a pipe dream. However, it would be quite surreal if this came to fruition. Michael Thomas has stayed in shape and healthy over the past few seasons. MT can run any route and be a threat in the red zone. He may not be an OPOY-caliber WR anymore. However, he could be a third down machine.
