Best spots for Joey Porter
By: Jake Rajala
There has been a lot of speculation that the stud Steelers CB Joey Porter could get traded. The two sides can’t agree on a contract. He is still young (26 years old) and they have other veterans (such as Jalen Ramsey), who are older. Hence, it’s crucial that they keep a young CB for a long time in my opinion. With that said, I’m going to lay out the best landing spots for Joey Porter.
Pittsburgh Steelers
I know it’s not the sexiest pick. However, he fits in well with the city that featured Bane on the football field. The Steelers are in “win now” mode. As mentioned, they have Ramsey. Obviously, they have T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward. Most importatly, they have Aaron Rodgers, who is on his last ride.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys aren’t exactly coming off an superb season. They ranked 32nd in passing YPG allowed. Yes, you read that correctly. At least, the Boys made a wise move to draft Caleb Downs. He is the most important Cowboy on the defense.
New Orleans Saints
Who dat! The New Orleans Saints have moved on from Marshon Lattimore, Paulson Adebo, and Alontae Taylor over the past couple of years. Kool-Aid McKinstry isn’t Darrelle Revis. The Saints need a true lock-down CB. McKinstry can be the CB2.
Detroit Lions
I’d love to see the Detroit Lions be aggressive and acquire a superb talent on defense. After all, they missed the playoffs last season, after looking like a Top-5 team in the season prior. The Lions need to bulk on their pass defense, if they want to stand a chance against the likes of Los Angeles Rams, or Seattle Seahawks.
Cleveland Browns
The Browns need to get creative if they want to stand a chance to win in their division. They shipped away Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward isn’t getting any younger. Of course, they don’t appear to have a Top-20 QB, as well. Hence, it’s time to reel in a star like Porter.
