Best spots for Evan Neal

It’s been widely reported: the New York Giants have cut former first round pick Evan Neal. He didn’t touch the field last season. Then he had nine games in 2024 and seven games in 2023. Clearly, he’s looking for a fresh start. With that said, I’m going to lay out the best landing spots for him.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals need all the help they can get. They have a bottom 10 QB situation. They have superior weapons though. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride are top-shelf weapons. Neal could start over Elijah Wilkinson at right tackle. Wilkinson had a PFF grade of 62.9 last season.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs have a 2026 undrafted free agent (Khalil Benson) signing at right tackle and then a 2025 first round pick (Josh Simmons) at left tackle. In other words, I’d like to see more insurance at their young tackle position. They also just happen to have the best QB in the NFL. Hence, it’s vital they have quality pass protection on the edge.
Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are one of those teams that simply can’t afford to pass protect. They already have had issues with their QB play. I’m not saying they need Joe Thomas, but they need quality tackles. They have a rookie at tackle by the name of Spencer Fano. He was their ninth overall pick in 2026. Howver, they could use an improvement at the other spot. Tytus Howard had a PFF grade of 62.8, which was 58th among tackles.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys need to have superb pass protection. After all, they have a few elite weapons (Cedee Lamb, George Pickens, and Tony Pollard). Their left tackle isn’t cutting it. He had a PFF grade of 57.5, which was 71st among tackles. Furthermore, their right tackle has been a dud. He had a PFF grade of 63.6.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Aaron Rodgers is an old man. He needs quality pass protection. If Troy Fautanu gets injured, they are really putting Rodgers at risk for injury. Plus, Troy Fautanu may lose his spot to Evan Neal. Troy had a PFF grade of 66.6. In other words, he wasn’t dominant.
Honorable Mention:
San Francisco 49ers
Trent Williams hasn’t played a full season since 2013. Yes, you read that correctly. It would be wise to grab a backup tackle, even if Williams misses one or two games. The 49ers love to run the football, so Neal could be an extra body to punish DL.
