Best RB targets for the New York Giants
By: Jake Rajala
The New York Giants running back situation is a mess. They benched Cam Skattebo against the New Orleans Saints. Najee Harris was given four carries. They ended up releasing him. With that said, they clearly need a running back. So, I’m going to unfold five RB targets for the GMEN.
Jonathan Taylor
Let’s face it: the Colts season has a very dim outlook. They fired their General Manager and I expect Daniel Jones to be benched. They are wasting Jonathan Taylor’s potential. He could be a future Hall of Famer in the right situation. He has 492 yards and several rushing touchdowns right now.
Saquon Barkley
Saquon has lost a bit of a step. I still believe he’s a Top-10 RB. He is playing on an Eagles team that just lost Jalen Hurts for the season. Saquon has 181 rushing yards and he’s averaged 5.1 YPC. The Madden curse hasn’t entirely taken out Barkley.
Blake Corum
Blake Corum is the Rams RB2. He is pushing to get more carries. He has 223 rushing yards right now. PFF has given him an 69.6 grade, wich is 17th among RBs. I believe he is an above average RB. Kyren Williams is a stud, but he’s not a prime Todd Gurley or Eric Dickerson. He needs some help.
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon has slowly improved his craft in his young career. The second round pick from 2025 has 194 rushing yards thus far. Rhamondre Stevenson has a firm grip on the RB1 spot. I’d like to see the Pats get a draft pick from Henderson and bring in an veteran ball-carrier to be the RB2 role.
Ashton Jeanty
Ashton Jeanty needs a change in scenery, or he will be the next Trent Richardson. Jeanty can truck over defenders, similar to Adrian Peterson. I’d love to see him hit the hole faster and read defenses better. Furthermore, I want to see him more involved in the passing game. He has only averaged 3.2 YPC and 313 rushing yards.
Honorable Mention:
Breece Hall
Breece Hall looked like a Top-10 RB in moments of last season. Well, he’s lost a spark. He has registered 3.2 YPC and 163 rushing yards. Thankfully, Geno Smith has surprised and has played modestly. They are still 2-4 with their backs to the wall. So, they should trade players for draft picks if the losing continues.
